This abandoned hospital is considered as one of the most haunted places in Costa Rica, this sanatorium was founded in 1918 by Dr. Carlos Durán
with the main intention of treating tuberculosis patients, however with the medical advances the sanatorium was not longer needed and closed in 1963.
The old sanatorium tuberculosis hospital, is located in Prusia, Cartago, about 1 hours and 10 minutes from San José.
